Sawgrass Country Club, is a Resort, 27 hole golf course facility located in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The facility has three 9-hole courses, the South, East, and West.
The 27 holes,”three different rotations”along with five different tee boxes (Gold, Blue, White, Green, and Red) provide a varied test of both abilities and ambitions.
The course was designed by Ed Seay of Palmer Course Design.
The Sawgrass Oceanside Course (East-West) was the home of THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP of The PGA TOUR from 1977 to 1981.
The South Course 9 opened for play in 1984, and it too was designed by Ed Seay. This tract has tight fairways garded by pines and palms, Bermuda roughs, and strategically located water hazards and bunker protected greens to make shot placement a priority.

Not accurate to call Sawgrass a resort course. It's member-owned and operated, and neighboring Marriott hotel has a few starting times every day. Not a problem to play in 4 hours, normally. Great pro shop and excellent service.
